The mission of the Field of Greens Farmers Markets is to provide venues in neighborhoods for local farmers and artisans to sell their produce and products directly to the diverse and integrated community in southeastern Connecticut. Our aim is to make accessible affordable, healthy locally produced food to locations throughout New London and now the City of Groton.

New London Field of Greens Market Kicks-Off “New” Indoor Market in April 2016

Can’t wait for our seasonal summer/fall market? Well, you don’t have to!               10375027_10153304001504581_2282242999032744843_n    We are proud to launch our first Spring Market at New London Field of Greens.   If you have always wanted to join a local farmers market to provide fresh produce, artisan breads, specialty items, art and home made goods here’s your chance!  We will be announcing a list of our Spring Market vendors soon so stay tuned.

Spring Market Kick Off – April 9, 2016 from 9am-12pm at Saint James Church, 76 Federal St, New London, CT.

This market will go from April through June, providing those early spring crops, seedlings, flowers and other CT Grown products – “Bringing the Farm to the City”  Applications  are currently being accepted from vendors interested in joining this unique opportunity. Field of Greens Farmers Market adds Groton City Marketgirl-at-farmers-market

With support of the USDA Farmers Market Promotion Grant, the New London Field of Greens Market will expand this year, opening a new market in the City of Groton. Stay tuned for some exciting news, as we welcome even more opportunities for local farmers who provide Connecticut grown and produced foods and increase access to healthy, farm fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, cheeses and more.

Mitchell College to host Wine and Chocolate Event to Raise Funds for local farmers markets

Join us for an amazing array of the finest chocolates, chocolate sauces, cakes and confections and local wines and sparkling wines in one place.  All under the smooth backdrop of local jazz musicians.  $25 Donation/person – Saturday, April 16, from 7 pm to 9 pm – Mitchell College,  437 Pequot Ave, New London, CT.                  Stay tuned for ticket information.
